Digital Message Center Installation for church in Normal, IL
Simply Divine Signs & Wraps supplied and installed a double-sided digital message center, 3ft by 8ft, for Epiphany Roman Catholic Church in Normal, IL. The stone monument, its lettering, and its star were already there and stayed. We took out the old display, mounted the new one, and handled the permit and the final wiring.
§ The Challenge
What the customer needed
The church's digital display was not working. It was 2ft by 5ft, double sided, and it did not fill the opening it sat in, which made it harder to read from the road. Staff wanted a display they could program themselves for service times, events, and seasonal messages. The stone monument was staying, so the new display had to work with the openings that were already there.
§ The Solution
What we did
We supplied and installed a double-sided digital message center, 3ft by 8ft, in the church's existing stone monument. We took out the old display, drilled the masonry for the new mounting hardware, assembled and mounted the unit, and made the final wiring connections. The stone openings needed material taken out to fit the new unit. We specified that and talked the approach through with the church's masonry contractor, who did the cutting. The church's electrician added the local disconnect. We pulled the permit.
§ The Result
What changed after install
The new display is 3ft by 8ft where the old one was 2ft by 5ft, and both are double sided. It fills the opening the old one left gaps around. Staff program it themselves.

§ Why This Project Matters
Why this kind of work pays off for a local business
For churches and nonprofits, a programmable message center turns a sign the building already has into a way to talk to the street. Mass times, events, and community messages reach passing traffic without anyone standing outside changing plastic letters in the rain.

FinishedThe monument seen from across the road, with the message center running a full-color image. A traffic signal and overhead lines cross above it, houses stand behind, and the church parking lot runs into the foreground.

It depends on visibility goals and the building. Lighted channel letters and lit cabinet signs perform best for after-dark visibility. Dimensional letters give a premium daytime look.
